Oak Creek Trail

Beginning at a new trailhead in Valparaiso on the east end, the Oak Creek Trail follows the abandoned Union Pacific railbed through Loma and then ends in Brainard. Trail users traverse an oak shaded trail bordering the Oak Creek until they move out to the ridge between Loma and Brainard. The view from the ridge provides a vista that stretches for miles. The trail is closed for a few days each autumn during deer-hunting season.
