The Great Plains Trails Network strives to bring you the most information on our area trails so that the community may use our wonderful trail resources.

Two important icons to note that you may find on the left-hand side trails list are the Leaf (signifying a Rural Trail) and the Cone (alerting an updated status for this trail).

    70th Street Trail

    Geographic Description

    This trail extends from Old Cheney Road along 70th Street to just south of South Street.

    Geographic Description

    This trail runs along 84th Street connecting to Mahoney Park on the north and Antelope Creek Trail to the south.

    Billy Wolff Antelope Creek Trail

    Geographic Description

    The Billy Wolff Trail extends from 27th St. and Capital Parkway near Folsom Children’s Zoo along the Antelope Creek to Holmes Lake and 70th Street.  The Antelope Creek trail continues from 70th St. south past the dog run, under Pioneers, 84th St. and Old Cheney and ends near Hwy 2.

    Geographic Description

    The Bison Trail runs from the east entrance of Pioneers Park to the Salt Creek Levy Trail near W. Van Dorn and S. 1st Streets.

    David Murdoch Trail

    Geographic Description

    The Murdock Trail connects to the east end of the Dietrich trail at 48th and Fremont Streets and continues on along the north edge of Mahoney Park out to 112th Street.

    Geographic Description

    The Helen Boosalis Trail runs along the north side of Highway 2 from 17th Street to Old Cheney Rd.

    Geographic Description

    This 3-mile loop serves the neighborhood and connects with the Superior Street and Roper Park Trails.  It was a cooperative venture of the Highlands Corp., the city and several corporations and organizations.

    Geographic Description

    This trail makes a loop around Holmes Lake.

  • Homestead Trail

    Homestead Trail

    Geographic Description

    The Jamaica North Trail turns into the Homestead Trail just south of Saltillo Road.  The trail continues south through Lancaster into Gage County to the town of Cortland.  Trail work between Cortland and Pickrell is not yet complete (9.5 miles.)  The trail picks up again at Pickrell and continues to the city of Beatrice.

  • Jamaica North Trail

    Jamaica North Trail

    Geographic Description

    The Jamaica North Trail was completed in two phases. Phase one section runs between 4th and Calvert St. to ½ mile south of Saltillo Rd.  This crushed limestone section turns into the Homestead Trail on the southern end.  Phase 2 is a paved trail paralleling 4th St. between ‘J’ and ‘A’ Streets.

    John Dietrich Trail

    Geographic Description

    The John Dietrich Trail starts in Lintel Park near 21st and Holdrege Streets and connects to the Murdock Trail at 48th and Fremont Streets.

    MoPac Trail East

    Geographic Description

    The rural portion of the MoPac Trail starts 84th Street and continues east through Walton, Eagle, Elmwood and ends near Wabash.

    • Other trails connections: Paralleling the trail from 98th street to Elmwood, a second, undeveloped, path for horseback riding is cleared and marked

    Geographic Description

    The urban portion of the MoPac Trail extends from 84th Street to UNL City Campus at N. Antelope Valley Pkwy. and Vine St.
